Deleted Data in Windows is not permanently removed from Hard Disks. Deleted Files and Folders are simply marked as not being available anymore, and their Disks Space is set to be available for new Data. Free Data Recovery software can restore deleted Data even from Formatted Hard Disks! When users sell their computer off, give it away, or trash it, someone can use Data Recovery and recover Private files! Even anyone, who shares a computer with others, wants to ensure that his or her deleted data will not fall into the wrong hands.

Hardwipe is a free File-Wiper and Drive-Cleaner, which can:

• Wipe entire Hard Disk Drives

• Wipe individual Files & Folders

• Sanitize Unused drive space

Hardwipe can be used to Permanently Erase (i.e. “Hard Wipe”) data on Hard Disks and Portable Storage Media (e.g. Memory cards and USB/Flash drives) in order to prevent sensitive Personal & Business information  Recovery.

Hardwipe first Deletes Data and then Overwrites it with Random Data up to 35 times.

Therefore, Hardwipe supports all major Overwriting methods like GOST P50739-95, DOD 5220.22-M, Schneier, and Gutmann.

Hardwipe offers a Portable edition.

Hardwipe is fully compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8.

Hardwipe is Not bundled with Adware/Spyware like Toolbars etc.

Features

Hardwipe runs from within the program Main Interface, but it also supports a Right-Click Context Menu in Windows Explorer

Hardwipe closes by default after wiping a file from within Explorer. This behavior is configurable.

As some of the wiping operations can be quite lengthy, Hardwipe offers the ability to shut automatically down a computer upon completion. This is particularly useful when cleaning Large-Volume Hard Drives, which can take several hours.

The Verification option ensures the effectiveness of the Secure-Deletion process.

Hardwipe has the ability to Throttle a Hard Drive during File Deletion. This can be set to Automatic, to let the program do the throttling, or Manual to set limits directly.

Intelligent Disk-Cache utilization allows computers to remain responsive during lengthy disk operations.

Hardwipe supports Logging, too.
